Excursion to Alexandroupolis and the island of Samothraki

SAMOTRACIAN MYSTERIES MYTHS AND PRESENT

Day 1 – Plovdiv - Alexandroupolis
Plovdiv in 07:30 h – House of Culture “Boris Hristov”. Arrival in Alexandroupolis and departure by ferry to the island of Samothraki. Arrival on the island. Hotel accommodation. In the evening, we recommend you to try the seafood delicacies, which offer the pretty restaurants of the island. Overnight stay.

Day 2 – island of Samothrace
Breakfast. Tourist program – you will see the remains of the ancient city, where the statue of the goddess Nike of Samothrace was also found, displayed at the entrance to the Louvre Museum in Paris. Next is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, where the spear of the goddess of victory Nike is located. Free time for lunch. After lunch we will visit the charming town of Hora. The traditional village, amphitheater built in the 15th century on the slopes of Mount Saos has been declared protected. Narrow cobbled streets, two-story stone houses with tiled roofs, paved streets, it's the atmosphere of the city. The specific architectural style exemplifies one of the most primitive forms of housing unit in the Mediterranean. We will see the historical coffee in the capital, built in 1865, Assumption Church (1875Mr.) with precious icons and skulls of "Five Martyrs of Samothrace". We will have the opportunity to see the church of Christ the Savior, The Ethnographic Museum, the traditional oven and the ruins of a medieval castle. The city draws the attention of tourists to the shops, the stylish cafes, the bars, taverns and restaurants. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 3 – Samothraces.
Breakfast. Free time for beach and walks according to interests.

Day – 4 Samothraces – Alexandroupolis – Bulgaria
Breakfast. Departure by ferry to Alexandroupolis, Tourist program in the city - you will see the lighthouse, port, the waterfront street, the old part of the city – a multitude of narrow streets with artistic workshops, souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes. Departure for Bulgaria.
