2-3rd day Monday Arrival at the port of Lavrion. Accommodating the ship from 08.00 h. to 10.00 h. The first island, which we will visit is the island of Mykonos with a stay from 18.00 to 23.00 You will immediately feel the warm atmosphere of the island with its specific Cycladic architecture with cube-shaped white houses, the white narrow streets, dotted with small cafes and boutiques, the windmills, little Venice, and the church of Panagia Paraportiani. 3-th day tuesday Our second destination is Kusadasi (Turkey), where we are from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This city, located on the coast of the Aegean Sea, will charm you with its beautiful sea views, nature and the taste of the local apple tea. It is no coincidence that the city in translation means “the bird island”. Its name most likely comes from the small stone island in the shape of a bird's head, located near the old port of the city. At will: Excursion to ancient Ephesus – the best-preserved city from antiquity. We pass by the place, where the temple of Artemis was – one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Free time for walking and shopping or to try the local delicious delicacies. IN 12:30h we board the ship again and set sail for our next beautiful stop – Patmos Island. The holiest island in the Aegean Sea is revered by the entire Christian world because of the preserved cave, in which St. John the Theologian received his enlightenment and wrote the last book of the New Testament “Revelation of John”. 4-th day Wednesday The new morning finds us on the island of Rhodes (07:00h – 18:00h) – the easternmost island in Greece from the Aegean Sea, and the most interesting with its arrowhead shape. The flora and fauna are very similar to those of Asia Minor, than to those in the rest of Greece. Every year, Rhodes attracts millions of tourists with its historical and cultural wealth, with the luxury of its glamorous resorts. The island is covered with forests of Scots pine and cypress and rich fauna, including Rhodesian stag, which is a symbol of the island. Interesting to know about this island is also, that he gathers two seas – Aegean and Mediterranean. At the tip of the blade, you can see the stormy aquamarine Aegean Sea on one side and the Aegean Sea on the other – the calm dark blue Mediterranean Sea. At will: walking tour in the ancient city of Rhodes – the city walls, early christian basilica of 5 century, the square of Hippocrates, the street of the knights, the palace of the Grand Master. 5th day thursday Our first stop for the day is the largest and closest Greek island to North Africa, Crete / city. Heraklion / (7,00h – 12,00h.) The Minoan civilization developed on the island (approx. 3000-1400 Mr. etc. n. is.) – the most ancient civilization in Europe. At will: Excursion to the Minoan Palace of Knossos from the first European civilization. IN 12:00h we sail to the island of Santorini (16,30h – 21,30h.) – the pearl of the Aegean Sea. KUSHADAS /KUS-01/ – The House of the Virgin Mary and the Ancient City of Ephesus by bus - half day. We are heading to ancient Ephesus, famous for the Temple of Artemis – one of the 7 wonders, completed in 550 BC. The construction of the temple with nad 100 marble columns, it took 120 years and because of him, the city is called "Servant of the Goddess". Ephesus is one of the most famous cities of antiquity, knew the power of the Ionians, Lydians, Persians, Romans and Turks. We will explore part of the archaeological complex and get an idea of the splendor of the ancient city. We will instantly recognize the iconic Celsius Library, The Gate of Augustus, The Agora, Odeon, Hadrian's Temple, The theater, the houses of the aristocracy. We head to the House of the Virgin Mary. It is considered, that it was the last home of the mother of Jesus, where she lived with Saint John the Theologian, who took care of her. Three popes have visited this place. Another reason why Ephesus is so important to Christianity is, that here around 2 for years the Apostle Paul lived and preached and wrote here 2 Epistles to the inhabitants of the city of Corinth, included in the New Testament. PATMOS /PAT-01/ – Visit to the Monastery of Saint John and the Cave of the Apocalypse by bus and excursion in English. From the historic port of Skala we travel up the mountain to the whitewashed architectural monument of Hora, which is deeply rooted under the sacred walls of the monastery of St. John the Theologian. The imposing 15-meter walls of the fortified cultural, a religious and spiritual center greets us at the top. On the deeply spiritual island of the Dodecanese, prayer, esoteric solitude and solemnity are important daily practices. Let the maze of chapels and courtyards of the majestic Byzantine monastery lead you to its treasures of medieval icons, holy relics and beautiful frescoes, dating from 12 century. There is also a museum, displaying priceless religious artifacts. Half way down the mountain we will stop at the holy place Cave of the Apocalypse. It is in this cave that it is said, that St. John heard the voice of God and was inspired to write his visions in the last book in the Bible, The Revelation of John. Time for personal worship, We are invited to enter the cave of the Apocalypse and have our time of prayer and worship. The interior of the cave at length 6,60 m and width 5,50 m is decorated with seven silver lamps. RHODES /RHO-11/ – Walking tour of the Medieval City of Rhodes and the Citadel of the Knights - half day. The best way to fully immerse yourself in the history and atmosphere in the heart of the Medieval Town of Rhodes and the fascinating history of the Order of the Knights Hospitaller and their patron Saint John the Baptist. We will pass through the Street of the Knights in the Old Town - one of the best preserved medieval streets in the world. We will see buildings, in which the knights lived. The purpose of the order was originally to provide medical aid to wounded crusaders, but soon became a military order, resisting the Ottomans' conquest of Rhodes. We visit the magnificent castle of the head of the order – The Grand Master, which is the focus and most important landmark of the Knights Quarter and located on the highest point of the medieval city of Rhodes. The castle stands on the site of a 7th-century Byzantine fortress and boasts a large courtyard with impressive towers, massive walls and intricate Gothic architecture. It is assumed, that the Colossus of Rhodes stood in this place - one of the 7 wonders of the Ancient World. Our tour continues to the Mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent, Turkish baths, the hospital of the knights, the church of the Madonna of the Castle from the 11th century. As we venture into this amazing open air museum, crowned on a hilltop, overlooking the glistening Aegean Sea, it's clear to see how the oldest city in Western Europe inspired one of the most inspiring legends in Greek mythology. The long winding roads of Crete's most important site gradually reveal the fascinating art and architecture of the Minoan civilization and give you a fascinating insight into a world, which has been almost forgotten 3500 years. SANTORINI / SAN-01/– Excursion to the village of Oia. The charming coastal village of Oia, with its blue-domed churches is Santorini's most famous town. On our scenic excursion, we have the opportunity to make sure of the beauty and romantic atmosphere of the village. Santorini's famous caldera also offers unforgettable views. From the prime location on top of the cliff we will enjoy a view of Thira, the capital of the island and group of islands, which includes Thyrasia, Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni. On arrival in Oia, take some time, to enjoy the atmosphere, before walking through the winding narrow streets, that lead us to hidden gems, nestled in the narrow arteries of the villages and the main shopping street.
