FIRST DAY - Flight Sofia - Bari. Arrival. Transfer to Bari. Visit to Bari - the capital of the Puglia region. A walk through the old town, visit to the basilica "St. Nikola", in which the relics of the saint are kept. Departure for the hotel in the vicinity of Bari, Poliniano a Mare, Monopoly or Matera. Accommodation. Overnight stay.
SECOND DAY – Breakfast. Departure to Alberobello - the best preserved town in the so-called "land of the trulls". Trulli are strange structures made of stone, dry built, without mortar, with conical roofs, covered with gray limestone slabs, which are characteristic of the area between Alberobello, Pheasant, Get rid of Martin Frank too. Some of them date back to the Etruscan era. Alberobello has kept 1400 rotten, which cover the two hills, on which the town is built and offer the visitor a truly unusual landscape. Arrival, viewing Alberobello (UNESCO). Continue through the "land of the trulls" to Locorotondo and Martina Franca. A walk around Locorotondo (9 km from Alberobello) – a beautiful town, built on a hill, around which its concentric streets wind. Continue to Martina Franca (7 km from Locorotondo) through the valley of Itria - a fertile plain, planted with vineyards and olive groves, among which rise here and there conical roofs of trulli. A walk through the old town of Martina Franca, which is a real baroque pearl - "Piazza Roma", palazzo Caracciolo – today the City Hall, San Martino Cathedral, "Via Cavour" and "Via Mazzini", adorned with the elegant facades of several palaces. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
THIRD DAY – Breakfast. Departure to Matera - a truly unique city, consisting of dwellings, carved into the soft limestone rock. Matera preserves the richest and most authentic ensemble of troglodyte houses in Europe, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is an amazing feeling to find yourself among the white hills of the old town, storage housing, a large part of which were already inhabited in the prehistoric era, but they are still inhabited today, and to realize how little human life has actually changed over the millennia. Visit to the old town of Matera with its rock churches and cave houses. Departure for Polignano a Mare - small town, about which there is little to say, that it is picturesque. Located around a small cove on the Adriatic coast, Polyano, with its lovely houses with white stone facades and bougainvillea on the balconies, is one of the most pleasant places to walk and relax in Puglia. A walk in the old town of Polignano a Mare and along the promenade, where stands an impressive monument to Domenico Modugno (1928-1994), the author of the immortal hit "Volare", who hails from the city. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
FOURTH DAY – Breakfast. Departure to Lecce - the city, rightly called "the baroque pearl of the Italian south" or "the Florence of the south". All the facades in the old town are richly decorated with garlands, draperies, statues, balustrades, caryatid, little angels, spread wings… The soft and easy to work stone from the surrounding area, has facilitated the imagination of builders and sculptors, who have created a parallel world of angels, saints and various allegorical figures, which lives its own life above the heads of stunned passers-by. Visit to the Baroque city - the Basilica of Santa Croce, Palaco del Governo, Chiesa del Gesú, the church "St. Irene", "Piazza del Duomo" with the campanile, cathedral, the bishop's palace and the Palazzo del Seminario, "Via Palmieri". Free time. Departure to Monopoli - similar to Polignano a Mare, it's a city, the walk through whose old center should not be missed, when you visit Puglia, because it brings magical moments and unforgettable memories. Monopoli is a lively seaside town, whose harbor offers wonderful sunset views. A walk through the old town - along the stone labyrinths of the small streets, among the amazingly white facades of the houses, decorated with ceramics, and with the bright colors of the fly, oleanders and bougainvillea and sheltering restaurants, cafes, galleries and souvenir shops. In the evening - return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Fifth Day - Breakfast. A visit to Barletta – port city, which in the 12th - 13th centuries had great strategic and economic importance for the area as a port, from which the Crusaders set out for the Holy Land. The beautiful center of the old town, housing wonderful historic buildings and medieval churches, attracts tourists. The symbol of the city is its "colossus" - a statue of Hercules from the 4th century, representing most probably one of the Byzantine emperors. It is considered, that the statue entered and remained in the city, after a shipwreck, who transported her from Constantinople to Venice. Exploring the old city - colossus, The Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher, Palazzo della Mara, Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the fortress (during the tour, all buildings are viewed from the outside, entry to museums is not provided, in the fortress, etc.) Transfer to the airport.
